Leisure Systems Inc., franchiser of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts, has added five new parks in an expansion effort.

The Milford-based company has temporarily waived franchise-initiation fees as part of a move to expand its presence in the family campground business.

The campgrounds are located in Bloomington, Ind.; Burleson, Texas; Donalsonville, Ga.; Forsyth, Mo.; and Swansea, S.C.

“Travel industry research shows continuing strong interest in family travel, and we believe that modifying our franchise offer will be an effective way to encourage high-quality, family-oriented campgrounds to leverage our brand name and business model to grow their businesses,” said Leisure Systems’ COO Rob Schutter in a news release.

Schutter expects more campgrounds to sign on as the summer camping season approaches, in addition to the five that have already franchised.

Leisure Systems Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cincinnati-based Park River Corp. and franchises the Jellystone Park system of family-friendly campgrounds. The Jellystone Park system is the second-largest chain of campgrounds in the United States, with 75 campgrounds in 28 states and Canada.
