Jamie L. Evans began working as an RV cleaner in his grandfather Don Barlow’s RV dealership in Wilmington, Ohio when he was just 13. Since then, he has worked in a variety of capacities at three RV dealerships and a year ago at the age of 37 he returned to Wilmington and founded Evans Wholesale Management LLC with the goal of filling a void in the RV industry.

This spring, he expanded the business venture into retail and is selling pre-owned recreational vehicles under the name Evans RV Center at 2919 Progress Way (the former State Route 73 East) near The Equipment Superstore.

Many of the pre-owned RVs have been refurbished by Evans’ staff.

This market niche of renovating previously owned RVs occurred to Evans when he acquired at auction a motor home with water damage. Jamie had his twin brother Jeremy rehab the motor home.

He started buying units that had some sort of damage, had them fixed and sold them to RV dealerships. He got a “big crop” of travel trailers that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) utilized on-site following Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana.

The inventory at Evans RV Center includes motorhomes, travel trailers and towables.

The business’ Web site is www.evansrvcenter.com.
