In what could amount to a major breaking news story for the U.S. RV industry, China’s Yutong Bus Co. Ltd. has invited RV industry suppliers to a ‘’special meeting” next Tuesday (Aug. 3) in Elkhart to discuss the ”planned introduction of a new series of Class A motorhomes.”

The invitation notes that there will be an introduction of the company, including a descriptive outline of the company’s products, a presentation on issues related to the international supply chain (payment, packaging, documentation, freight costs, timeline, etc.) and the importance of U.S. suppliers.

Private meetings will be scheduled for the remainder of the week, according to the invitation.
While there was no description of the new line in the invitation, a four-page spec sheet termed the ”original wish list” was included. It noted that the unnamed fiberglass-and-aluminum motorhome will have 28- to 30-foot floorplans on 22,000-pound GVWR chassis equipped with 250/280-hp Cummins or Navistar diesel engines.

Amenities will include solid-surface countertops, leather sofas and swivel rockers.

As one of the Texas motorhome dealer’s most popular makes and models, the four-slide, diesel pusher Monaco Diplomat not only has luxury features and outstanding craftsmanship, but the models available at Motor Home Specialist are currently discounted at a rate that’s nearly impossible to beat: 25 to 28%

Monaco is a division of Navistar, a multi-billion dollar company and world leader in commercial manufacturing for brands such as International trucks and MaxForce engines. The company is one of the fastest-growing producers in today’s recreational vehicle market as well, and one of the largest manufacturers of Class A motorhomes. With this financial and industrial backing, Monaco RV has the infrastructure and solid capability for building their own chassis called Roadmaster.

The Monaco Diplomat rides on what’s known as a RR10R model tag axle – the “10R” means there are ten air bags on the chassis as opposed to the normal six as for most motor homes, and each floor plan has its own unique engineering and setup design. The rugged tag axle uses an active suspension that adjusts as the RV rides to absorb the bumps, with sensors transferring air for stabilization in addition to the wide placement of the main rails. “We like how the airbags are placed on the outboard of these models, because that’s where most of the weight is,” says Donny O’Banion, Motor Home Specialist’s CEO.

Other features of the luxury 2010 Monaco Diplomats include:

  • Panaview one-piece windshield
  • Adjustable gas and break pedals, power front visors, and power step well cover
  • Multiple 110 and 12V outlets
  • Slide out computer desk
  • Three roof-mounted air conditioners with heat pumps mounted on a one-piece fiberglass roof
  • Gas and electric water heaters
  • Side-view cameras built into side mirrors; activated by turn-signal and a fantastic safety feature
  • Easy push-button set up for extending four slide-outs and awnings
  • Computerized leveling system
  • Spacious living area with ample seating – the opposing sofas both provide for additional sleeping
  • Front kitchen arrangement with extra counter space, tile backsplashes, cherry wood cabinets, and stainless steel appliances
  • Large entertainment center with high-end LCD TV with Blu-Ray high definition, viewable even when RV slides are in
  • Bathroom has extra large shower and Corian countertops
  • Bedroom features a Select Comfort king-sized bed, LCD television, ceiling fan, large chest of drawers
  • Master closet is one of the largest in the industry (full width of the coach), full-mirrored doors
