Alex and Sherry Pirvovaroff win new Lance travel trailer

RVIA’s California RV Show has awarded Alex and Sherry Pirvovaroff, of Lancaster, Calif., a 19-foot Lance travel trailer, the grand prize in the sweepstakes at the October show in Pomona, RIVA announced today. The trailer, valued at approximately $17,000, was delivered by Richard Wade, president of Richard’s Boat & RV Center of Lancaster, CA.

Pirvovaroff and his wife of 44 years have been RVers for more than four decades. They visited the California RV Show because they were in the market for a new unit, and were thrilled to win the Lance trailer, according to a press release from RIVA.

“I’ve been telling my friends, always put your name in the drawing,” said Pirvovaroff. “You never know what you might win. We’re very appreciative to Lance and the California RV Show for their generosity.”

Pirvovaroff said he and his wife are planning a trip to Oklahoma in the spring to visit their daughter.

The 2013 California RV Show will be held at the Fairplex in Pomona from Oct. 11-20.

CARSON, CA, August 19, 2010 — Joe Altman, president of Altmans Winnebago, announced today that while Altmans will be continuing its normal retail sales, service, rentals, and parts operation in Carson, California, its location in Colton, California would be closing its doors.

“We have made the difficult decision,” said Altman, “to suspend our operations and close our store at the American RV Expo in Colton. It’s been over two years since this serious economic downturn began and our efforts to maintain an adequate sales volume have not been sufficient to sustain profitability.”

Altman also stated that it was a very difficult and sad decision since the entire Colton crew made a gallant effort to
preserve the location. Altman continued saying,”The closure of our Colton facility is a reflection of some very difficult times in our country, not [the crew’s] efforts, abilities, or work ethics.

“The time has come to focus on a new future and concentrate our resources where we can produce more concrete results,” said Altman. “Our Carson facility is still fully operational with more 2010 and 2011 Winnebago Motorhome and Lance travel trailer models than any other dealer in the west, and there are more on the way.”

Altman continued by saying that they we will meet the challenges ahead and that with over 39 years in the RV industry and all of their professional staff consolidated under one roof, they will still have competitors scrambling to meet the many Altmans advantages they can offer their customers.
