A brand-new camper was destroyed Friday night when an eight-point buck eer attempted to jump between a truck and the camper it was pulling on County PD near the town of Nasewaupee.
According to the Door County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page, Thomas D. Richart, 55, of Greenleaf was driving with three other passengers in the truck, around 7 p.m. heading north on County PD when the buck struck.
The deer broke through the front of the camper, and its body came to rest inside.
The sheriff’s department reported that Richart had just purchased the camper and was planning to use it for the first time this weekend.
