ELKHART IN — It wasn’t exactly a prayer when Darryl Searer, president of the RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum said on July 3, 2012, Even though contributions ranging from $5 to $2,500 continue to come in, we will need an angel or two who will follow the example of Marcus Lemonis, chairman of Camping World, and Good Sam Enterprises, and Don Wallace, co-founder of Lazydays RV Super Center, who each donated $25,000 toward the Ingram Family’s $100,000 Challenge Grant.

However, a prayer could not have been better answered. Searer’s “angels” have stepped forward.

In the first two weeks of July, more than $30,000 has been donated toward the Ingram Challenge, bringing the total received to date to $90,055, or 90% of the goal. Searer said, That leaves only $9,945 to be raised before the Aug. 31 deadline.”

Those new “angels” included Roy Beck, retired co-founder of The Beck Corporation, and Jason Lippert, chairman of Lippert Components Inc, who each donated $10,000. Bill Fenech, a former Thor Industries executive, also contributed $5,000.

Searer said, “Everyone at the Hall really appreciates all those who have generously contributed to this campaign.”

According to Searer, 54 individuals, companies and organizations have contributed to the $100,000 challenge with donations ranging from $5 to $25,000. To see a complete list of donor so far, visit www.rvmhhalloffame.org/Ingramdonorreport.cfm.

“I’m hopeful that we can reach our goal by August 6 which is the date of the Class of 2012 Induction Dinner and Annual Golf Classic,” he added. “It would be a great addition to the celebration to be able to announce during those ceremonies that we have reached our goal ahead of schedule.”

One-hundred percent of the challenge grant contributions will go toward paying down the Hall’s bank loan at 1st Source Bank and all gifts are tax deductible.

What a difference a year makes. At last year’s induction dinner, the mood was far from optimistic about the future the RV/MH Hall of Fame. But that has all changed now and the future of the Hall looks great.

“I encourage everyone to attend this year’s induction dinner. Come and see firsthand our progress in bringing the Hall back from the brink,” he explained.
